One of the important avenues to liminal time and space is the arena of the arts. An entire chapter in The Liminal Loop is devoted to liminality and the arts. One of those artists is Jenny McGee, and she relates the artistic process to liminality in this way:
The liminal spaces of art include the liminal aspects of art itself: the edges, boundaries, openings, contrasts, and negative space. However, the liminality of artistic expression also includes the back liminal stories, the place in the world where the art is presented and, indeed, the intersections where one thing meets another, like a mother and daughter, long separated from one another. This third space was the divine ecotone where past and present converged, space bent, and what was hidden became revealed.
