El Salvador Series 6

The tree in the painting represents a time in my life when I felt lonely and scared in my own wilderness. I felt vacant, I felt alone. It was terrifying. This tree that I witnessed was in a space where everything around it was gone. But somehow the tree, even though facing struggles and harsh wind, survived. Somehow, it was being sustained.

What is sustaining you right now, what is nourishing you in your wilderness?

This color of green represents contemplation and growth. This tree is a symbol of solitude and wilderness. The space surrounding the tree represents the absence of confines and a space where God's empowerment can occur without clutter and distraction. There are letters below that were hand-cut to reflect the chorus.
